Ich bin traurig: eines meiner Lieblings-Independent-Labels schließt die Tür. In Kürze wird es Übersee Records nicht mehr geben.

“13 is bad luck – and well, it’s been almost 13 years of Übersee Records… Unfortunately we have to call it a day; we have to throw in the towel. It’s really too bad, but at some point in life we have to pay for food and rent, especially with some little Übersee members on board now.

We’ve given all we could but it was just not meant to be…

We’re taking off with a crying and a smiling side to it. Crying, because we won’t be able to explore Latin America’s music scene anymore, to find new amazing bands to bring over to Europe – to you. But hey, now you got to look for yourself! You can do it ;-) Smiling, because we’ve had a real impact with what we’ve done! Who knew bands like Panteón Rococó, Karamelo Santo, Abuela Coca, No Te Va Gustar, RoCola Bacalao, Doctor Krapula, Santo Barrio, La Plebe (on tour right now) or Los Kung Fu Monkeys (coming again in 2014) BEFORE we started out a long time ago?! We’ve changed the music scene round here – for the better we believe…”
